Chris Craft Barrelback

Although so many boat builders have included the barrelled style backs, the Chris Craft is the most popular. From about 1940 the first 17 footer was released and classified as a Barrelback. Chris Craft also have a 19 and 23 foot Barrelback from about the same era.

It’s not easy to see why it’s classified as such other than the rear hull sides sweep up and form seamlessly into the top deck. The transom view shows a curved top blending into the sides, no real straight edges.

The plans for the Barrelback are the simplest available. There are only some 18 parts which include frames, keel, stem, breasthook and chine logging. Typical of all my plans are the key lock features where all mating parts align without fail.

Plans provide by CD rom or by FTP download as arranged.

Plans in PDF format   FULL SIZE for direct printing!

CNC files provided also.
