Deep 16 - A Donzi inspired outboard!
This has been a long time coming but I am finally at the business end of this Donzi Sweet 16 inspired outboard. In Australia our weather turns from "fine" to ferocious in minutes, those living in
Melbourne know all too well "The Rough Pond" or Port Phillip Bay. A shallow but vast bay that's really only predictable in Autumn, I as so many others have had to turn tail and run home or to
sheltered grounds, no easy feat when you're 20 minutes out and pounded by a nasty chop.
Having owned a Caribbean Crusader with a 19* Vee, I knew this was unstoppable as a 23 footer in any weather so I had my sights set on a smaller easy craft offering the same level of comfort
but easily transportable. Anyone that has not been in a deep V needs to get a ride in one to see what the fuss is about, trimmed and throttled properly, you can drive in almost any sea and
still maintain the use of your kidneys!
Sweet 16 was all but perfect save the inboard set up. I felt an outboard would make it far more affordable and easy to maintain...
